Dolores has combined her knowledge of psychotherapy and outdoor adventuring to help others who are on similar journeys to fully feel present, energized and connected to the people and land they are encountering. She will be speaking at Overland Expo in Flagstaff, AZ offering classes titled: Mindfulness for Overlanders: The Adventure Mindset and Traveling as a couple: Navigating the Bumps in the Road.
Personal Biography
Dolores has been personally pushing the limits of endurance and adventures for more than 30 years. She seeks out understanding of the mind/body connection and how a person can not only get through but thrive in stress, difficulty or pain. She is an Ironman Finisher and Ultramarathoner. She enjoys traveling and seeking new adventures with her husband, Sean. Sean and Dolores met rock climbing in Colorado and have not stopped seeking out ways to get out and explore. These adventures have taken her backpacking, backcountry skiing and trail running in the Western Mountain Ranges, whitewater rafting in Idaho, exploring the jungles in Cost Rica, backpacking across Europe, and exploring the deserts of Utah and Baja. As a licensed and practicing psychotherapist, she has incorporated the philosophy of mindfulness into other neuroscience-based therapies to help people heal from trauma and move past beliefs keeping them stuck in anxiety or depression.
